This week I’ve spent a lot of time talking about the project. On Monday I delivered one of the University’s Twilight Talks down at Colston Hall. They’re public evening talks designed to show to the city what we do. It was pretty informal and the audience were great – really interested in the project and supportive of what we were doing. Today I spoke about our project at our annual ‘Donor’s Event’ where we thank the people who generously fund research activity to Bristol’s Institute of Greece, Rome and the Classical Tradition. There was a really good turn out and people seemed very interested in our work. As ever, I was frustrated by talking about an online environment by using still ppts. We must get some promo films sorted so we can demonstrate the model more effectively. We have got some but they are from the very early days in SL and so don’t show the finished model. It was great to speak with the donors about possible commercial exploitation of the ideas in our project – convinced me of the wider application of what we’re up to.
