The JISC meeting at Oxford turned out to be very useful, particularly in terms of meeting the other projects funded by the Digitisation strand. All the projects are very different but there are lots of common elements: it will be good if communication keeps up between us all. Most of the other projects have a much bigger personnel than we do but it seemed that we weren’t having half the communication issues that others were (several complaints were heard about academic staff. Fancy!) The most useful session was probably the one given by a project manager from a long-running project (World War One Poets archive – Oxford University) – some really useful tips on dissemination. We could have done with some of the info back when we were doing our Project Plan but it’s all still useful and relevant, I think – and helpful as we go forward.
